Project Kerala
Now booking for January 2012 and beyond
We are really pleased to announce that our programme, for teachers wishing to team-teach for one month in Keralan schools, has begun.
The south Indian state of Kerala is an extremely popular tourist destination. With its stunningly green scenery, peaceful yet mulitcultural people, outstanding food and excellent education and healthcare reputations, it's not hard to see why. Add to this the diversity of landscapes, from the sea to the mountains, all accessible in relatively short journeys, and you may find this gem at the tip of India is just what you need.
The programme works with two schools in southern Kerala, with both primary and secondary sections.
The programme has four optional start dates of the beginning of September, October, November or January.
The package includes:
-extensive pre-trip communication between One World Education, the customer and the school
-airport pick-up from Trivandrum Airport
-comprehensive induction into the area and the school
-a willing and experienced Keralan team-teaching partner
- placement in a school which shares a similar ideology to ours, and which is keen to host UK teachers in this way
-accommodation in an apartment near to the school, with reliable internet
-all meals
-24 hour availability of support from One World Education
-regular, considerate support from our local staff
-personal travel advice for weekend trips and journeys following the teaching programme
-a request for customers' professional reflections and insights regarding the programme, to build on the model we have constructed
The cost of the programme is £950 per person (£850pp if a teaching couple).
